The DVDs are a companion to Dr. Hendrickson’s popular textbook, Massage and Manual Therapy for Orthopedic Conditions (LWW, 2009) which is translated in five languages and is used as a required textbook in massage schools worldwide.
Each DVD chapter follows the corresponding chapter in the textbook. Chapter 1 describes the science of massage and manual therapy. Chapter 2 explains the theory and science of soft tissue mobilization, muscle energy technique, and joint mobilization, with clear demonstrations of each modality. Chapters 3-10 follow the clinical chapters of the textbook, and demonstrate techniques for each region of the body, including 85 METs and 86 soft tissue and joint mobilization techniques. And the DVD set includes a bonus eleventh chapter, which shows a sample treatment.
