As movers, movement educators and bodyworkers, we use our senses to understand the language of the body. The Articulate Anatomy Series offers an in depth visual, tactile, experiential, and deeply nerdy/intellectual look at the anatomy and kinesiology of the human body focusing on optimal joint function, mal-adaptive joint function and the creativity needed to bridge the gaps. Beginning with a detailed review of anatomy and kinesiology of each region, we will deepen our understanding of agonist/antagonist and synergist relationships, connective tissue continuities, and the dramatic influence of our changing relationship with gravity. We will hone our visual assessment and palpation skills as well as our experiential/empathetic skills by learning gentle movements drawn from Pilates, Body-Mind Centering, and Noguchi Taiso.
